WHAT MARK WILL YOU LEAVE?
WHAT WILL YOUR LEGACY BE?

This building was erected in 1927/28 by the 16th Chief of UKEREWE, Omukama Mwinamila GABRIEL RUHUMBIKA. He was a very wealthy chief not because his subjects brought virtually everything to him but because he had a business man's mind. He traded in cotton, sugarcane and sugar (he had a factory for sugar production close to this residence). His businesses grew beyond the shores of this island to Kagera and Uganda. It's in Uganda where he got an Italian architect who designed this building and all the materials for this building came from there! That's the late 1920s we're talking about. Man.!

He is the most revered chief of Ukerewe and this is mostly because HE LEFT THIS MARK. Neither his son and heir, chief Omukama Mwinamila MICHAEL LUKUMBUZYA (17th chief) who ruled after him and who was well educated and was later appointment as Tanzania's ambassador to Canada, nor his grandson the current chief VIANNE KASEZYA (18th chief) who resides in Austria are as revered as chief RUHUMBIKA because of the mark he left. My grandfather worked as his secretary and was rewarded a plot of land close to this place - our home place till today. So the chief had an impact even in my family and my life. He left a mark to our family too...

And so I thought of this thing called LEGACY. Leaving a MARK. This story may not concern you one bit as it does me but I believe you will agree that we all can learn something from it. We live in a world where people are increasingly encourage to love themselves more than loving anyone else where people are shown how to spend their money or time on and for themselves more than on or for anyone else. We forget that GREATNESS is the outcome of, even a reward for SERVICE TO OTHER PEOPLE. The legacy of the aforementioned chief may not be of importance to you but the nail I'm trying to hit into your wall here is: WHAT MARK ARE YOU LEAVING BEHIND? What will your family, street, community, country or the world at large remember you for? What will people show future generations that will demonstrate that YOUR LIFE WAS NOT IN VAIN...?

What will the universe look back at and hold in its incredible infinite hands and declare that there once lived a human being IN YOUR NAME?
If someone can erect a building that can stand the test of time you can do something too. You can build a school, plant a tree, clean a riverbank, feed the poor or cut their hair for free. You can compose or sing a song, write a book, protect elephants, build an incredible sports team, take man to the moon or Mars or develop a life-changing App.

There's more than enough room for all of us to build our legacy. There's no shortage of raw materials to build your legacy with.
There's no shortage of time for those who want to leave a mark.

Just find your WHY? Why you were created, why you're here. Why anyone needs to remember your name when you're long gone. Hold the pen and write your own history.

WANNA START A BUSINESS? THEN THINK LIKE YOU'RE IN FAST-FORWARD MODE

So we meet again.
Yep. And this is what I have for you today.

If you want to start a business just start. Fast! Don't sit on it waiting to ask for people's opinions.

Listen to me my friend. HENRY FORD. You know that name? Hope you do. Now let's talk a bit about him.
This guy once said if he had gone around asking people what they wanted before making his car they probably would have told him they wanted "FASTER HORSES". Okay, from the horse's mouth..

 But he came with the idea of a car. And then told people why they needed one. Brilliant! Don't you think?

ZUCKERBERG! You know him right? He's the reason you're guaranteed to read a book every day. I mean, Facebook. So, this guy didn't ask anyone what they needed before he created Facebook. He showed us mortals what we needed.

JOBS. I'm not offering any jobs. I'm talking of STEVE JOBS. He didn't ask people if they wanted shiny sexy gadgets for a computer or phone. He just went "LOOK-A-HERE GUYS, SEE WHAT I'VE GOT" and today when you say the world APPLE it's no longer unambiguous.

So....
If you think you have to ask people first what they need before you start your business you're going to spend the rest of your time as a living creature trying to make "faster horses".

ELON MUSK didn't go around asking "what kinda car d'yall need buddies?" He said instead "HEY EVERYONE LOOK WHAT WE'VE GOT... AN ELECTRIC CAR" and he together with his lot are really dooming the oil business to obscurity, albeit slowly. But a thing in slow motion IS only an illusion of delay. I mean, think about it.

What about ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (A.I.)? No one ever asked you if you're okay being operated by a robot or a human doctor or if you are okay being served by a robot in a restaurant or if you want to go with human beings carrying trays for ever? No one asked you these questions. People just made robots. And that's the FUTURE my friend. The PRESENT in some places of course.

If you are going to have a flourishing business my advice is be creative and get going faster than horses. Don't wait for anyone to validate your idea. I tried a few creative things without asking customers and they are actually working. They will work for you too.

Bill Gates talks of BUSINESS AT THE SPEED OF THOUGHT. It's no longer the stronger eating the weak. No, no, no. Now it's the era of the FASTER eating the SLOWER. So think FASTER.

Think like you're in Fast-forward mode!

Kila siku iitwapo leo nakutana na kuwasiliana na vijana wenzangu kutoka kila pembe ya nchi hii na wananiambia wanataka kufanikiwa. Katika kuzungumza na kila mtu ninazidi kujifunza vitu vingi. Nimeona nikushirikishe wewe pia huenda vikakusaidia.

So, nimejifunza kuwa kuna vijana wa aina 4.

*KUNDI LA KWANZA*

Hawa hawana ndoto (dreams)❌, wala malengo (goals)❌, wala mipango (plans)❌ za kuwafikisha wanakotaka.

Yes. Wapo wengi tu.
Kwa kifupi hawajui kwa nini hawajafa bado. Seriously ukimuuliza kwa nini bado uko hai atakwambia "ni mipango ya Mungu".  Unaweza kusema hawajajitambua bado. Unaweza kusema hawajielewi. Unaweza kusema hawajui hata kwa nini waliumbwa. Hawa ndo hawajui hata tafsiri ya mafanikio. Wengi wao wanaishi kwa kufuata kinachoitwa "societal norms". Mkumbo tu. Hawa ndo wana muda wa kutosha kujadili kuhusu skendo za wasanii, nchi ina njaa au haina, tuhuma za madawa, Makonda anafaa au hafai. Wewe uko Ukerewe huko tena Ukara, Makonda anakuhusu nini truly?😞😞

Kundi hili lina watu wengi wa kada zote waliosoma na wasiosoma wenye ajira na wasio na ajira na waliojiajiri. Ni kundi kubwa na lina kelele nyingi kwenye social medias. Huyu anaweza kuingia Facebook ku-scroll tu. Kisha mlio wa WhatsApp ukilia huyo. Anaingia kuchek kwenye group kuna nini. Kisha Insta kuangalia nani kapost nini!
Hawa wanaongoza kulaumu serikali na wazazi na kulalamika kukosa sapoti au kukosa mitaji pasi na kujua kuwa tatizo kubwa liko kuanzia shingoni kwake kwenda juu!

Kama upo kundi hili ni dhahiri umaskini ni fungu lako. Hawa hata Mungu wanamfanya mganga wa kienyeji. Wanataka waombewe eti wafanikiwe. Kwa dreams zipi sasa? Kwa goals zipi na plans zipi?

Hawa angalau wanajua kuna kitu wanapaswa wafanye. Shida unakuta hana malengo. Mfano ana ndoto ya kuwa mwanamuziki wa kimataifa. Ok sawa. Sasa umejiwekea malengo yapi? Hola. NIL. Nada!!
See? Anaongelea ndoto zake kweli kweli. But hajui aanzie wapi. Mwisho anakata tamaa. Anaanza naye kuongelea madawa ya kulevya mpaka akili yake inaanza kulewa nayo. Afu anaishia hapo.
Hawa huwa nawaambia wakae chini watulie wajiulize kama kweli ndoto wanazosema wanazo ni ndoto kweli au just wishful thinking? Maana ukiwa na ndoto kweli hutatulia. Utakuwa kama mjamzito. Hali yako itakuwa inabadilika tu as time goes on. Nikiona una ndoto halafu maisha yako hayana kuhangaika fulani hivi kusaka njia ya kuitimiza najua hiyo ndoto si yako.
Lazima ukae chini kubuni Goals na Plans za kufikia ndoto yako.
Mfano nina ndoto ya kuwa mtu mwenye maarifa ya mambo mengi. Hiyo ni dream. Goal gani nimeweka? Ok mwaka huu nimeweka lengo (goal)  kusoma vitabu 50 kwa mwaka ili kuongeza maarifa. Kitabu kimoja kila juma. Tunavyoongea tuko juma la saba la mwaka na niko kitabu changu cha saba pia.

*KUNDI LA TATU*

Wapo ambao wana ndoto ✔ na wana malengo✔ ila hawana plans (mipango)❌ ya jinsi ya kutimiza malengo yao.

Hawa wanahitaji usaidizi kidogo.
Nimekupa mfano wa dream yangu na goal ya 50 books. Plan yake je? Hapa iko hivi nimeweka PLAN rahisi tu kuniwezesha kutimiza hiyo goal. Mojawapo ni kuwa kila kitabu nachukua idadi ya kurasa nagawanya kwa (siku) saba. Mfano kitabu nilichomaliza juma lililopita kilikuwa na kurasa kama 420. So nilisoma kurasa 60 kwa siku. Everyday. Cha wiki hii kina kurasa 200. Vingine unakuta kurasa 150. Hivyo hivyo. Nadhani umepata picha.

So ninakutana na vijana wengi wana mpaka malengo. But plans hana. Anataka kuingiza sh milioni 50 mwaka huu ili mwakani afanye kitu kinachompeleka kwenye ndoto zake. Goal nzuri kabisa. Lakini hana plan. Hawa ndo unakuta wanacomment AMEN akikuta Facebook mtu amepost picha ya maburungutu ya pesa. Anaishi kwa superstition.

Lazima uweke plan. Na uifate. Je plan yako ni nini unajiajiri? Au unaajiriwa part time?
Plan.
Plan.

Ukiwaza hivi vitu utapata muda wa kufatilia mambo yasiyoisha ya siasa na wasanii kweli? Unaishi na akili imejaa sura ya Gwajima na Makonda siku nzima. Unajitambua?

Sumbua akili yako. Be serious. Mentor wangu aliniambia "Your mind has to be on a leash at all times! Like a dog on a leash. You must control your mind". #IloveMyMentor.

Kataa kupoteza muda.
Bila hivyo utasema dream zako hadi unaingia kaburini. Ishu ni DISCIPLINE. Nidhamu. Bora ukose kula kuliko kukosa kufata plan yako.

Yes. Unaweza kugawanya kurasa za kitabu na usisome vile vile.

But hii "EAGER DESIRE", hii ambition ndo Dangote alisema kama huna basi hupaswi kuwa hai. Unasikia maneno hayo?

So kundi hili la watu wasiofanyia kazi mipango yao shida ni HAWANA DHAMIRA YA DHATI kutimiza ndoto zao japo kwa nje wanaonekana kama vile wanaenda kwenye ndoto.

Sasa sijui wewe unajiweka kundi lipi. Najua huwezi kujidanganya mwenyewe. Unajijua ulipo.
Asubuhi ya leo nilikuwa na vijana wanne  mmoja kamaliza kidato cha nne watatu wamemaliza chuo wote wana DREAMS. Hawana goals wala plans! Nimewaelekeza na kuwaomba tuonane kesho Asubuhi tena kila mmoja wao akiwa keshaandika hayo. Watu unaowajadili wana maisha yao. Jaribu kujadili ya kwako.

Tafuta kuunganika na watu wanaokupeleka kwenye mafanikio yako. Watu wasiopoteza muda na clip za bungeni kila siku. Mi nataka clip za mambo yanayonipeleka kwenye ndoto zangu. Siyo za madawa ya kulevya. And that's me. Wewe kama unataka za Bunge fine. But if unataka kubadilika utimize na kuishi ndoto zako basi karibu tuzungumze zaidi. I hope nitajifunza kwako na pia utajifunza mawili matatu kwangu.

HOW TO TURN WATER INTO WINE. (JINSI YA KUBADILI MAJI KUWA DIVAI)

Nashukuru Mungu kuweza kuwa nanyi hapa leo tena, ni neema ya Mungu. Hope mpo salama. So leo tujifunze pamoja something very important.

Kwanza nianze kwa kusema kuwa kosa mojawapo katika maisha yako utakalolifanya ni kuishi maisha yako yote hujawahi kusoma Biblia tena kwa USAHIHI siyo kwa ajili ya kuendea mbinguni tu bali kwa ajili ya kujifunza mambo muhimu mbali mbali kuhusu maisha (of course ikiwemo hilo la mbingu). Hii haijalishi unawaza nini kuhusu Biblia au wewe ni dini gani. Nasema hivyo kwa sababu kama utajifunza kitu katika makala yangu hii ya leo basi ujue kuwa unahitaji kuanza kusoma hiki kitabu.

Sasa tuendelee..

Sasa bana.. Kwa miaka mingi toka niko mdogo nimesikia mara nyingi sana kuhusu huu muujiza wa Yesu. Unarekodiwa kuwa muujiza wake wa kwanza in public. Na hata nilikuwaga sielewi. Na wengi hawaielewi lessons mbali mbali zilizo katika story hii inayopatikana John 1:1-11.

Leo naomba tushirikiane kujifunza machache tu ya kukusaidia kuondoka katika hali uliyonayo. Kila mtu ana hali fulani maishani mwake asiyoipenda iwepo either kwake au katika maisha ya watu anaowapenda. Kama huna wewe umeshakamilisha kila unalotaka duniani basi jiandae kurudi kwa muumba wako any time. Sasa kwa makala hii jambo unalotaka ndiyo WINE/DIVAI yako. Ila lazima ubadili maji kuipata.

 Unataka kuolewa, kuoa? Watoto? Unataka kufanikiwa kifedha, unataka ajira, unataka nini? Chakula cha kutosha ghalani mwako? Unataka kuwa kiongozi wa nchi au kampuni kubwa? That's your wine.
Unataka kujenga biashara kubwa ya kuigwa mfano? That's your wine.
Unataka kusaidia familia yako iondokane na umaskini kabisa? That's your wine.  Unataka kutatua tatizo la michezo Tanzania kutofika mbali? That's your wine? Unataka kumiliki kampuni kubwa ya usafiri wa anga duniani? That's your wine.
Maji ntakwambia ni nini.  Be patient...

So baada ya kujifunza upya kuhusu huu muujiza nilijifunza mambo YAFUATAYO ambayo ndo teknolojia yenyewe ya kubadilisha maji kuwa divai:

1. DEALING WITH NEGATIVE PEOPLE

Aisee nilikuwa sijajua hivi vitu na naomba ujue kuwa hakuna kitu kinachokwamisha mafanikio ya watu wengi kama kuruhusu NEGATIVITY kichwani mwako.  Huyu mtu anaitwa Yesu alikuwa strict kweli kweli when it comes to that. Hakuwa na maskikhara haijalishi anayeleta negativity ni mama mzazi,  mwanafunzi ambaye atakabidhiwa uongozi baadaye, au ndugu wa rafiki yake kipenzi. Kumbuka Simoni Petro alipomkemea Yesu asiongee kuhusu kifo chake Yesu akamkemea back kwa kumwambia "Rudi nyuma yangu shetani".  Hakutaka kabisa kuwaza negative. Hata rafiki yake kipenzi alipofariki akaletewa habari alijibu "HAJAFA... AMELALA TU".  See? Very positive.
Sasa tuone hapa Kana ya Galilaya. Mama yake Yesu kaalikwa. Na Yesu na wanafunzi wake wamealikwa pia kivyao. Kinywaji kimeisha. Yesu anajua. Na anajua cha kufanya. So hakuhitaji mtu wa kuja kumwambia kuhusu kukosekana kwa DIVAI. Sometimes watu wanaukuja kukuambia habari mbaya kuhusu maisha yako au maisha ya uwapendao huja kwa nia inayoonekana machoni kuwa njema lakini kumbe wanaweza kuwa wanatumika kukuyumbisha kiimani.  KUMBUKA. Narudia, KUMBUKA kuwa huhitaji negative statements nyingi ili uishiwe imani au ushindwe kuachieve kitu unachokitaka.  Sentensi moja tu inawezekana ikakumaliza wewe na watu wako wote.  Eva aliposikia sentensi fulani fupi tu kutoka kwa nyoka (nyoka akiwa ameingiwa na shetani) Eva akala tunda.. Sentensi fupi tu.... "Hakika hamtakufa..." (Mwanzo 3:4).  Eva wa watu akaamini kumbe hakuna kufa. Afu kumbe kuna kufanana na Mungu. Akakosesha kizazi kizima cha binadamu. Yesu alikuwa anajua UMUHIMU wackutokaribisha NEGATIVITY kutoka kwa mtu yoyote.  Ndo maana mama mzazi alipokuja kuleta habari mbaya. Negative. "Hawana divai".  Biblia ya kiingereza inaonyesha alijibu kwa ukali kidogo. "Woman, what have I to do with thee?..." (John 2:4). Halikuwa jibu la kukosa adabu but jibu la kuonyesha strictness. Petro aliitwa shetani katika mambo ya aina hiyo.  Lakini huyu ni mama. Ila ni kama aliambiwa " mama niache najua".  "Tuna nini mimi nawe?"

That's how you treat negativity.  Reject it on the spot.  Mtu akikuletea habari za kukwambia nchi ina matatizo, nchi ina njaa, nchi ina ukame, nchi haina ajira,  nchi hiki nchi kile.  Nchi hii watu hawana hela. Mtaani hali ni ngumu. Afu na wewe ukashabikia.. Ujue you will NEVER get your wine. I'm telling you.  Achana na habari za kusikiliza negative people. Kuna watu na pages za kuunfollow na kuna watu wa kublock.  They're are simply too negative. Be like Jesus.  "Tuna nini mimi na wewe?"  ina maanisha pia "What DO I HAVE IN COMMON WITH YOU?". When you're positive you have nothing in common with negativity of any kind.. Mtu akikwambia aisee unajua hali ni ngumu mwambie "Kati yangu na wewe kuna kitu tunafanana?". Ifikie mahali mtu anakuja kukuelezea shida na matatizo akifika kwako anaahirisha. Ukistudy watu wengi walikuwa wanamwambia Yesu matatizo.  Mwanangu anaumwa. Rafiki yako amekufa. Hawana divai.  Tunaangamia (na dhoruba).  Hawakuona kuwa kuwa na Yesu was a solution itself. Watu wanakwambia hakuna ajira

Watu wanakwambia Biashara ni ngumu. Pesa hakuna.  Na wewe unasikiliza.  You will never accomplish what you want. Lazima ifikie hatua unakataa kusikiliza. Hata kama ni mke/mume au mzazi. Mwambie hamfanani wala hamuwazi the same.. You have nothing in common.  Tuna nini mimi nawe.  Yesu hakuwahi kuentertain habari kutoka kwa mama toka siku hiyo.  Yani alimuunfollow.  Yes.  Kuna wakati Yesu anahubiri akaambiwa mama na ndugu zako wako nje. Nadhani jibu lake unalikumbuka.  Mama na ndugu zangu ni hawa wanaonisikiliza

. Ameshaunfollow.. That's why wakati anakufa akamkabidhi kwa Yohana.  Mama tazama mwanao.  Biblia ya Kiingereza inasema WOMAN BEHOLD YOU SON

Hakutaka kuwa tied na mtu kisa ni mzazi wakati anaweza kumkosesha bila kujua. Unajua wengi Yesu hawamwelewi. Reject negativity completely.
That's step one.


2. IDENTIFY YOU WATER.

Cha pili ni kuwa ukishakataa negativity haitoshi. Wine haiji bila "MAJI" right.  So you have to identify your "water".  Raw materials. Nini kinapatikana hapo ulipo wewe ambacho kinaweza kukupa what you want. Wengine wenu MAJI yako ni kipawa chako.  Wengine maji yako ni idea fulani unayo. Wengine wenu maji yako ni watu wanaokuzunguka majirani nk. Wengi wa vijana wanaohangaika na ajira elimu hiyo hiyo waliyonayo ndo MAJI yenyewe.  They have the raw materials.  Kila mtu mwenye shida ana some kind of raw materials ya kubadili kuleta DIVAI anayotaka.  Find your raw materials.  Hii huwezi kujua bila kuwa mtu wa kukaa peke yako kuongea  na Mungu na kutafakari neno la Mungu na kutafakari UKUU wa Mungu na kutafakari ambayo Mungu keshakutendea. You must set aside muda wa kutosha ina a day at least 1 hour wa wewe na Mungu wako tu. Utaletewa majibu tu ya kujua what's your WATER. Wanaoweza kumwona Mungu ni wanaoweza kuona DIVAI katika vyombo vitupu.  And I'm saying lazima uitrain mind yako kukagua mazingira yako ili kuona MAJI. Raw materials. Huwezi kufika hapo kama hujablock baadhi ya watu Facebook na kuunfollow baadhi ya pages na groups. That's why kila unayesikia analalamika.  Negativity imejaa vichwani. Wengi wameshindwa kuona anything good anymore. Wanawaza tu HAKUNA hiki, hakuna kile.  Hakuna mvua

hakuna ndoa za kweli, hakuna elimu, hakuna ajira, nakutana na vijana wengi wananambia sina mtaji,  wengine wanasema hakuna mikono,  hakuna dawa hospitali,  hakuna hela mtaani,  hakuna maua, hakuna wateja.  Hawaangalii around. Jesus took action.. Akawaambia watumishi "FILL THE WATERPOTS WITH WATER". Ok kujua raw materials tu haitoshi unapaswa kujua wapi ipelekwe. Na njia gani. Haya yote utayajua kama tu wewe ni mtu wa kutuliza kichwa.  Acha kuyumbishwa. Tuliza kichwa hicho. Wengine vichwa vyao havitulii hata akilala kichwa kinazungukwa na majinamizi na vikatuni katuni tu. Hawezi kukaa one hour tu aseme natuliza kichwa. Waajiriwa wengi wakipewa likizo badala wakatulie kuwaza wanaenda kushinda kwenye TV au baa au kwenye miradi. Culture ya kutuliza kichwa haiko.  Ndo unakuta raw materials ziko na mtu ni positive lakini hawezi kubadili MAJI KUWA DIVAI sababu kichwa hakijatulia. So unapaswa kutuliza kichwa na kutake action kwa imani. Yesu aliwambia JALIZENI MABALASI MAJI. Wakajaza hadi juu. Nice. Kisha Akawaambia TEKENI MKAMPELEKEE MKUU WA MEZA. Yani action after action. Hakuna kusikilizia.  Mungu anataka hivyo.
Umekataa negativity
Umetambua raw materials zako
Then take action non stop.

Hapa wengi husita.. Keshajua ana uwezo wa kuongea vizuri badala akaombe kazi kwa imani anasita.  Keshajua anaweza kuongea na watu badala akaanze biashara kwa imani anasita. That's why ni wachache wanapata divai.  Wachache sana wanabadili MAJI KUWA DIVAI.

Je ungependa kuwa miongoni mwao? Ujumbe wangu kwako ni huu.
Achana na negative people. Mtakutanaga mbinguni. Kama watakuwepo.
Then tambua MAJI yako ni nini?

UNATAKA MAFANIKIO, SAWA LAKINI UNALIMA MAHINDI AU MINAZI?

Kwa neema ya Mungu wa mbingu na nchi nimepata wasaa wa kushare na nyinyi tena jambo muhimu.

Nimebarikiwa kukutana na watu wengi mno hasa vijana kila siku na kubadilishana mawili matatu kuhusu mafanikio. Na nimejifunza kuwa watu wengi hawafikii mafanikio wanayoyataka sababu wanataka KULIMA MAHINDI.

Wanataka kuvuna haraka haraka so hawataki KULIMA MINAZI.

Kila anayetafuta mafanikio ni MKULIMA.  But kuna watu wamechagua kulima mahindi na wachache wamechagua kulima MINAZI. Nadhani kwa kuangalia mazao niliyoyataja unaweza kuona tofauti kubwa ipo zaidi katika inachukua muda gani kuja kuvuna. Mahindi ni fasta tu.....lakini minazi! Weeee.....  Inabidi uvute pumzi kweli kweli.

So nimejifunza kuwa ukitegemea kilimo cha mahindi utavuna haraka lakini ukishavuna itabidi ulime tena. Au siyo? So hiyo ndo inakuwa life. Ila minazi utasubiri sana.  But ukianza kuvuna hulimi tena. Ujue Mungu bana ana vitu amazing sana ukitafakari. Sasa the best way for you in life ni kulima minazi. I believe hadi hapa umeshaelewa kuwa majina ya mazao nimeyataja tu kama kiwakilishi cha njia utayotumia kufikia mafanikio yako.  Kubali kuinvest a lot of time. Watu wengi hawataki kuinvest muda kwa kuwa wanataka wafanikiwe WAO. Kuna a selfish motive ndani ya kutaka kwao mafanikio. Na hata akificha if he/she sticks around long enough itadhihirika tu kwa kukosa kwake subira. Kufanya jambo linaloleta matokeo baada ya muda mrefu mno ni jambo ambalo wengi hawataki. Na kwa kuwa sasa tunaishi katika ulimwengu wenye Instagram na kufesibuka kwa sana mtu akiona picha za wenzake wanavaa vizuri vizuri anatamani kuwa kama wao haraka haraka. So kama wameajiriwa anatamani kuajiriwa fasta. Ndo maana waajiriwa wengi wana magari (of course ya mikopo) sababu kubwa ni hii "comparison fever".  Nimeielezea kwa kina sana in my upcoming book. Lakini kama unataka mafanikio ya kudumu hupaswi kamwe kujilinganisha na mtu.  Unapaswa kuangalia PLAN ZAKO (kama unazo that is) na kuzifanyia kazi.  Unachoweza kufanya ni kuangalia waliofanikiwa walipita wapi kisha ujifunze kwao na kuboresha. Lakini usitake kuwa Bakhressa leo kwa miaka mitano.
It takes time. Bhakhressa hajaanza "kulima"  mwaka juzi.
Long time kitambo.
It took him time.
Being Dewji took time.
Being Mengi took time.
Being Dangote took a very long time, and many a sleepless night.
Being Warren Buffet took time.

Talking of which najifunza mengi kwa vyama vya upinzani hapa kwetu Tanzania. Jinsi ambavyo, kwa mawazo yangu madogo, ninavyoona wanahangaika kulima mahindi badala ya kulima minazi ambayo ndo itawafikisha mbali.

Mfano:

Niweke WAZI hapa kuwa suala la upinzani kuchukua dola ni jambo jema mno kwa ustawi wa taifa letu kwa ajili ya kuencompass mawazo mbadala ambayo mengi huonekana kama hayafanyiwi kazi na chama tawala.  Huo ni mtazamo wangu na siyo sababu nataka kufurahisha mtu. Ni jambo jema,  but I like to say siyo lazima ENDAPO mawazo yao yatafanyiwa kazi na taifa likaendelea vizuri. And that can become a bigger problem kwa upinzani kama CCM ikiboresha say hata 70% tu ya issues.

HOWEVER shida ya vyama vya upinzani ninayoiona mimi ni kuwa mpaka sasa hawataki kulima minazi wanataka mahindi.  Bila kujua kuwa mkulima wa mahindi akivuna lazima alime tena msimu ujao bali mkulima wa minazi akilima mara moja tu kinachobaki ni kuvuna. Mfano Sasa hivi ukitazama upinzani wanawaza 2020 washinde uraisi.  Mahindi. Wakishindwa "tumeibiwa kura". Hawaonagi wapi wamekosea.  Haya,  ikiisha hiyo watawaza 2025. Which mpaka sasa ni ngumu kwao. Coz kama wataendelea kupresent Mhe Lowassa, au Mhe Sumaye as wagombea wao basi wawe na uhakika wa kushindwa kama CCM itamweka tu hata Nape au Makonda. (I believe ccm ina a surprise package for 2025 yuko anapikwa kupokea mikoba ya Magufuli) See? That's the difference.

Upinzani wana nani anapikwa now? Wanapaswa wapike mtu au watu for a long time. Minazi. Hivi mfano wangepika mtu kama Mnyika for say, 30 years toka alipokuwa 25 years old mpaka afike 55 years old akiwa anaandaliwa tu kuwa raisi every single day for 30 years wangeshindwa kuiondoa CCM kama wana hiyo GOAL? See,  strategies hizo hazionekani that's why wanatafuta mtu ambaye ni maarufu tayari (ready made product) kama Lowassa ambaye kajijenga kivyake or rather and worse kajengwa na ccm hiyo hiyo. Ccm ina akili sijawahi ona. Imeinvest kwa lots of youth muda mrefu. Wapinzani hawataki kuinvest for the long haul. Wanawaza 2020 eti.  Na 2025.  Ukiwauliza nani anagombea in 2040 usikute hata idea hiyo haijafikiriwa. Sasa kama plan za miaka 25 tu mbele hakuna mnatamani nchi ili muipeleke wapi? They've already failed in 2025. I assure you. Trump alijiandaa for a long time and hakuna aliyejua kuwa atashinda nomination ya GOP.  That's why kina Obama na Clinton waliishia kumkejeli na kudharau wakati yeye kisha study kuhusu ELECTORAL COLLAGE for many years kimya kimya.

Thomas Edison na invention ya light bulb, kina Henry Ford, Ferdinand Porsche kina Lamborghini kina William Deloitte walifanikiwa kwa kuchagua kulima minazi. Siyo mahindi. Njaa ya msimu kama haiui basi haina shida. Wanasema   WHAT DOESN'T KILL YOU MAKES YOU STRONGER. Manji amekuta utajiri wa babu, wewe kwa nini usiweke FOUNDATION ya wajukuu zako kufanikiwa.  Hutaki. Na maroboti yanakuja, drones zishafika, Google kitu kinaitwa ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (au Al kwa kifupi) ujifunze jinsi ajira zitakavyopotea huko tuendako.
Ungeweza kufanyia kazi kipawa chako ukakifanyia kazi na kujinoa kwa muda mrefu ili siku ukiingia sokoni uweke alama but hutaki.
Ungeweza kuja kufungua kampuni kubwa baadaye ili utatue hilo tatizo la ajira linalokukera lakini wewe unataka uajiriwe WEWE. Ili uvae vizuri ukope gari ukale Samaki Samaki afu basi.  Ukifa na degree yako inakuwa imeishia hapo. Hakuna kinachodumu.  Mungu akikuuliza huko ulikotoka uliacha nini jibu huna. Usiwe blinded na RELEVANCE ya muda mfupi.  Matajiri wengi walipita vipindi vya kuchekwa na kukosa hata pesa at times.
Kutothaminiwa na ndugu au jamii nk.  Kwa kuwa tu walionekana hawavuni haraka haraka kama wengine. Kumbe mwenzao amelima minazi. Au Chinese Bamboo.

Wengi wakilima wakaona inakawia huishia njiani na kwenda kulima mahindi tena. Afu basi. Wanakuwa relevant now. Lakini jina lako hata wajukuu watakuwa hawalijui.  Ukichunguza kwa nini watoto leo wanajiita Don Ronaldo sijui Boss Lady.  Pamoja na mambo mengine but pia ni kwa sababu kwenye surname yake huyo mtu hakuna Dewji wala Mengi wala Mufuruki. Si rahisi mtoto wa Dewji kujiita sijui Don Van Persie au Sijui Undertaker hahaaaa.  Issue ni surname sometimes. So usije shangaa watoto wako na wajukuu hata jina lako wametupa kando tena hata hujafa. Surname haina mvuto. Kila uliona minazi inakukawiza kula bata.

THERE WILL BE THREE SURPRISES IN HEAVEN (PART I)

Happy New Year everyone..

Thank God we are still together,  and you know why? It's because we still haven't done our assignments here on planet earth. Otherwise we would be long gone.

So,  again,  Happy New Year, 2017!

It's not wise to dwell in the past, no matter how good or bad it was.  But allow me to tell you one of the greatest things I will forever be grateful for 2016. I met a mentor. And since I met him I have learnt a lot of things. So I thought I should share one of the things I learnt while having a conversation with my mentor on the last days of 2016.

We were talking about life and I guess he realized that I was still one of those people who talk about LIFE as a word instead of LIFE as a reality, a real thing. If you're one of those I assure you you're not alone. So he might have picked that from my words. I know him. He listens not only between the lines but I thing also WITHIN the lines. He said to me,  "See,  the object of life is to serve God and serve (God's) people". That means if you don't live your life as a SERVICE to God and to people then you're just existing - no matter who you are.
Think about that for a moment.

He went on to tell me, "See there'll be three surprises in heaven, one of them is when religious people MIGHT find people like Michael Jackson sitting in the middle of all the big fishes like Abraham,  King David,  Peter and Paul. That'll be quite a surprise,  no?"

I thought, well YES!

What do YOU think?

Well if you do your research among strong professing people of religious beliefs of every kind on their view of heaven you can be certain they have a list of things you must do to get there. As a Christian myself I also did live my life as a religious person for a long time. And so I know what I'm talking about. If you ask a typical Christian or Moslem how to get to heaven you'll get your answer right away and if you only stick to THAT answer alone I'm telling you you may be well on your way to hell with your eyes wide open.

The object of life is to SERVE GOD AND TO SERVE PEOPLE. If you don't do that you have wasted your lifetime for nothing.  Bora hata nyuki alizalisha asali wakati wa uhai wake! It doesn't really matter how many times you pray in a day or in a week or which days you worship God. I'm telling you THAT'S NOT THE WAY TO HEAVEN.

When I was in High School there was always a question asking you to COMPARE AND CONTRAST between things. So let's do the same with Michael Jackson for example. We can not be sure where he went for sure but let's just take an account on whether he LIVED or JUST EXISTED.

As I said the object of life is to make your life that of serving. Not to enrich yourself but to serve. I loved it when I heard that Bill Gates isn't planning to bestow his wealth on his children  but on charitable causes.  Can you imagine that? In other words he is telling his children Hey,  my wealth is for service to other people. You've got a fairly good life already!
Do you have SUCH a heart towards other people? That you can work day and night for way too long and create so much wealth just for other people?
Is that what your life is about? Or are you like the many others trying to GET something from this earth, trying to build houses and buy cars and take em vacations and dine and wine in the finest places on the planet and then die, never having touched the lives of those that are struggling?
See one of my friends once asked me once "Why do you write so much stuff,  you don't get tired"? What he didn't realize is that I'm doing God a service.  I am serving God and his people.  I'm trying to give back the little I have.  I am trying to lift someone up and educate people.  I'm trying to contribute something to life.  I'm trying to LIVE and not just exist.

So,  back to Michael Jackson. This is a guy who shook the music industry.  He left his mark. He didn't just coast around he went all the way up and made all the money he could make through his talents and abilities which were GOD-GIVEN. He became not only famous but also RICH. It's what he did with the money that I want to share with you to challenge you to look at yourself and see if you are living or just existing.

Here's a short list for purposes of pondering on:

In 1984 he made $1.5 million from a Pepsi commercial.  If you're here in Tanzania that's more than Tshs 3 billion  in one commercial.  And it is 1984 we are talking about. Most people weren't born yet. But wherever you are,  a million and a half is really big money.  Michael Jackson donated ALL OF IT to a BURN CENTRE FOR CHILDREN TRUST.
How would God feel?

In 1985 Michael Jackson wrote the famous song WE ARE THE WORLD with Lionel Richie and performed it the same year TO RAISE MONEY FOR AFRICA.
How would God feel?

1986 Michael Jackson set up the Michael Jackson N*gro College Fund to help fund the education of people of colour who were generally looked upon by whites.
How would God feel?

In 1989 he would give tickets to his show to underpinned children and donate proceeds from his show to CHILD HELP USA - the biggest charitable organization against child abuse, according to the #LookToTheStars Organization.

In 1992 Michael Jackson established the HEAD THE WORLD FOUNDATION. This one worked hard to airlift about 6 tones of supplies in Bosnia. Few people remember the BOSNIA WAR that followed the collapse of the former Yugoslavia and the Serbs backed by Slobodan Milosevic. I still remember my brother who used to ask me as a little boy:  "UNAWAJUA WA-SERB  WA BOSNIA"? (Do you know the Serbs of Bosnia?) obviously after hearing it over the news back in the village thanks to that small Panasonic "radio" back then. Then I would ask him NDO KINA NANI? (who are they)? And he'd try to explain things to my little curious mind. Well that was all for us. But much later when I was studying Law at the University I got to dig deep into that conflict and discover way more things than I thought there was to it.

But by that time, 1992, Michael Jackson would have 6 tons of supplies go to people affected by the same war my brother and I were trying to understand.

The same foundation provided education on the effects of drugs and alcohol and donated millions of dollars to less fortunate children.
How would God feel?

I once heard that he even attempted to buy the TABLE MOUNTAINS in Cape Town with the intent of having all the proceeds that would emanate from that unique tourist attraction go to help children in Soweto. And although this deal wouldn't go through but how would God feel?

I mean,  beyond any of his imperfections. How would God feel? Would God feel like, 'yeah,  that's the work of my hands trying to improve the situation', or would God feel like,  'oh I wonder why he isn't doing anything to help somebody else?'

You just guessed right!

And so.... how does God feel about how YOU and I spent our money in 2016? I'm sure God is NOT HAPPY WITH ME in that regard.
I don't know about you?

COMPARE AND CONTRAST. Remember?

So most of us have just been EXISTING for way too long.  But as for me now I've started living. So I will write and speak so much until my fingers and vocal chords beg for mercy.
I want to change somebody's life.
I want to improve the situation before I go.
I want to be of service before my time is up.
I want to give more and more.
I may not have all the money now to donate to people suffer in Allepo or Burundi but what I have I will give it all. For that,  ladies and gentlemen is the real OBJECT of life.
To give.

So make it your business to give the best that you have to give support,  to give encouragement to give help to give support and as Les Brown once said,  if that's what your life will be about, then it will all come back to you. So give it all. And perhaps God will look beyond your imperfections and eventually LEAD YOU TO HIM.

That's why religious people might be surprised to find people who didn't practice religion as much as they did in heaven. Because they don't bother themselves much to give their all to improve the situation.  Prayer is the most powerful thing on earth. But if you don't do that which will improve the situation then you haven't lived a life of service but you've led a selfish and self-centered life of wanting a car and a house and children and vacations and nice food and drinks as if God took His time to create you to come down here and have fun and go.
Listen to me: The world is not a night club my friend.

IN THE MIND OF ELON MUSK and BILL GATES, ET AL.

In the mind of Elon Musk there's no space for Kim Kardashian's #behind.
In the mind of Elon Musk there's surely space for TESLA and this awesome space project for sending a rocket to MARS.

But in your mind there's enough space for not only Kim Kardashian's behind and her favourite diet and places for vacation but also in your mind there's enough space for her birthday and her friends' names, her hobbies, her pet, her husband's life and first and recent album or songs and their children's names and birthdays among many other things.

In BILL GATES' mind there's no space for who won the lottery and how, who stole  whose wife or husband and when, who wore the best dress on Christmas day,  who posted photos on instagram from abroad and when will they be back, which artist outperformed the other in the last concert. No! That's in your mind.
In Bill Gates mind there's a #vigorous search for the next 50 books to read in 2017. In his mind there's space for how to eradicate malaria in the world.  In  his mind there's space for which communities to help get clean and affordable water and electricity.
But in your mind there's space for "when will the government give you a job"!

That's YOUR mind. I love how Facebook kinda "mocks" you when it says: What's in your mind? Hahaha..  And you're secretly like: "Well, Kim Kardashian's........."

In your mind there's actually more than enough space for more crap than there's space for meaningful things.
In your mind there's actually space for FAKE NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS!
Can you imagine that??
And you have the audacity to think that you'll still be successful with that same MINDSET.

And you wonder why you are walking around lifeless.  You wonder why you struggle to smile.  You wonder why you still need an alarm clock to wake you up. You wonder why everything is headed south despite all the effort you put in.
You wonder why you are so waiting for JANUARY 1ST instead of looking forward to the next 5 or 30 minutes. You don't know it's your mind that's holding you back.

And God's looking for whose mind is being put to service for humanity so he can bless and increase that person.
So.. Who should God increase? One who wants a new phone to take more selfish next year, or one who's reading more books to learn how to eradicate a killer disease?

Which one of the two would you bless?

Now listen to me. Here's the problem.
Problem is you don't see yourself as an opening for God to USE to serve His people.  You're not seeing yourself as an opening for the Universe to use to make people's  lives better before your time's up.  It's all about YOU. That's why your mind has enough space for Kim Kardashian.... and Rihanna and the list of her ex-boyfriends.... and Beyonce.... and Gaga... and every other person that has an "entertaining effect" on your mind.  You don't see yourself as a SOLUTION to the woes of people around the world.  You think small because that space for solving problems of the world has been replaced by Kim Kardashian's big behind. And you're happy. And content.  And God's  wondering saying: I PLANTED GOOD SEED IN THIS PERSON'S MIND,  WHO PLANTED WEEDS IN HIS MIND!?

So my friend, reconsider your life.
Rethink your priorities.
God's  WAITING to increase you.  But not with that mindset.

When you come to the end of your life be sure to look back and see a meaningful #legacy.  A life of service to humanity.
Take care of your mind!  We all need a clean you,  a positive you, an ambitious you! Life will reward you greatly for cleaning up your mind!
